CHALLENGE ASSEMBLY

I was away at a tangi so this post is on the practices and watching the video.

I think the parts that went really well in the Assembly was the challenge word jumble it looked awesome on the video and I also think the Christchurch earthquake skit went really well.I think that the main message in the assembly was that there a challenge in every ones life and if you face a challenge it will change you. I think the message did come across clearly because nobody was talking. Ithink the parts that were interesting was getting to know how an earthquake forms and the funny bit was Bedir about Mr Marquands hair.

Solar light reflection

The idea came from solar Demi.


Why it is such a good idea is because you save power and these people use to take this bottle for granted but now they cant live with out it.

Our design was to use a peice of cardboard, a bottle, pair of scissors, water.


I was suprised that it accully worked because i never new it was going to work.

Kaawhia's challenge goal.

My personal challenge is getting distracted by people talking to me.
My term goal is to stay on task.
How I will achieve this challenge by telling the people who talk
to me consentrate on the teacher.

Cross country

Last friday I ran in the school cross country.
Before the cross country race I felt nervous,scared and I had butterflys in my tummy.
After the cross country race I felt proud of my self and glad that I had just achieved a challenge.
My goal was to complete the race and not give up and I defintly think I achieved those goals.
I am proud that I was wise and also that I came 7th in the race.
My biggest challenge in the cross country race for me was the whole race because it all was a challenge.
What helped me keep going was myself and not giving up.

My Speech

What makes a good narrative?

We have been learning about writing a narrative. A good narrative includes who, what, when, where and why. It also includes detail, a problem and a solution. It also needs an interesting start and end and language features like similes.

One of these things that I do well is having an interesting start and the W's.

One of these things that I need to get better at is putting in some language features and 1 problem and solution.

speeches

This term room 15 are doing speeches. This is what I think about speeches .
I think that speeches are hard and when I do a speech I get nervous. I feel that way because i am a very shy person and im not use to doing speeches.

I think i need to get better at eye contact and speaking more clearly. I also think I need to get better at being confident while i am talking.

Segregation

In room15 this week have been learnig about our word of the week segregation.Segregation is when two groups of people are separated.

us photo's about coloured people and white people how white people were only allowed in sertain plces and so were coloured people also when we did our work which was on blue and green eyed to brown eyed people.

POSTER REFLETION

the bestest thing I liked about the poster was the facts because some were really good and my other good thing was the photo because the phooto's were good.


The thing I didnt like the most was the colour because it didnt stand out.

I would change the colour and some of the photo'sbecause they were the things that made the poster not that good.
